With eight islands, two of them inhabited, Madeira has a population of around 268 thousand inhabitants. It’s the second richest region in Portugal, with a GDP per capita above the European average and also stands out for its high tourist activity throughout the year. 

Besides Madeira’s Wine, its flowers, landscapes with steep mountains, green and flowery valleys, the panorama of the sea and the cliffs of the coast and its golden sand beaches on the island of Porto Santo, the region is also a highly dynamic region level of agriculture, tourism and industry. It’s a region that strongly supports youth and associativism, with the development of various programs and initiatives for these layers and with the presence of several schools from pre-school to college, with Madeira University.
